Ruptured Breast Implants

In case of a mishap where your breast implant ruptures, we offer immediate surgical care where the ruptured implant is carefully removed.

What is it?

Every kind of breast implant has an exterior silicone shell that has the potential to tear or develop a hole known as a rupture. A valve in a saline implant can also malfunction and let a leak through. Over time, your implant has a higher probability of rupturing or leaking.

Treatment Areas

An implant that has ruptured and is filled with silicone gel or saline should be surgically removed. In some circumstances, the capsule of scar tissue around the implant will also need to be removed, or the capsule may simply need to be split open using tiny incisions. If the implants are in both breasts but only one is ruptured, we will most likely remove both implants for the safety and aesthetics of the patient.

Am I a good Candidate?

The implant’s natural aging process, an injury sustained in a car accident, the insertion of a needle during a biopsy, or other factors can lead to the rupture of a breast implant.

If you have faced any of the above-mentioned circumstances, consult our doctors to gain a better understanding of the condition of your implants.

Side Effects & Risks
