How the Procedure Works

  • Before & Preparation

In order to prepare yourself for your breast implant removal surgery, you should ideally get a medical evaluation or lab testing done. Our doctors may ask you to take certain medications or change the dosage of your present ones. You must give up smoking a couple of weeks prior to the procedure and avoid taking Aspirin and any herbal supplements as they can cause more bleeding. You must also arrange transport to and from our clinic on the day of the surgery.

  • During the Procedure

An incision will be performed around the areola, beneath the areola, or in the lower fold of the breast after the patient has been sedated. The implant and breast capsules will then be extracted. The incision will then be stitched, sutured, or closed with clips.

  • Aftercare & Recovery

You will need to refrain from some of your regular activities for the first one to two weeks following surgery, including driving. You should avoid heavy lifting and intense activity while you’re recovering. For up to six weeks, many people experience pain or soreness.

Treatment Areas

Your surgeon will either make an incision under the lower fold of your breasts or around the area of darker skin around your nipple (areola) during the procedure (inframammary fold).

Am I a good Candidate?

Surgery to remove breast implants is a highly specialised technique. If you experience pain from implants, develop capsular contracture (hardening of the breast), imaging has revealed a capsule leak, or if you no longer want implants or want to exchange them, it should be done.
